A major snowstorm is anticipated to impact Britain starting Wednesday evening, February 18th, with some models predicting up to eight inches of snowfall. Advanced weather modeling indicates the storm will reach the UK by 6 PM.
While Wales is expected to experience the most severe conditions, cities like Oxford, Birmingham, Nottingham, Sheffield, Leeds, and Cardiff are poised for snow by Thursday. Belfast may see early snowfall on Wednesday evening.
By Thursday morning, snow depths in areas like Powys and Shropshire could reach eight inches, with the West Midlands potentially seeing up to three and a half inches. Around 90% of Wales is predicted to be covered.
Conversely, Scotland and parts of southeast England, including London, Essex, and Kent, are expected to remain largely dry. The Met Office forecasts an unsettled week with rain and wind in the north, followed by spells of rain, strong winds, and hill snow later in the week.
