UK Braces for Snowfall: Wintery Mix Expected This Week
3 Dec
Summary
- Snowfall is predicted to hit the UK starting December 5th.
- Affected areas include Lincolnshire, Yorkshire Dales, and Lake District.
- Scottish highlands are also expected to receive significant snow.

Weather forecast maps indicate that the UK will experience snowfall starting December 5th. Visualizations show patches of wintery precipitation appearing over Lincolnshire in the East Midlands, near the coast. Other areas expected to receive snow include the Yorkshire Dales, stretching north towards Newcastle, and the Lake District, with the snow extending across the Scottish border.
Further north, the Scottish highlands are projected to see substantial snowfall. Large white patches are depicted on the maps above Glasgow, and to the west of Dundee and Aberdeen. This incoming wintry weather suggests a significant shift in conditions across the country.
While these snow predictions are prominent, the Met Office's separate forecast for December 5th to 7th anticipates early fog followed by bright, breezy conditions with fewer showers. However, wind and rain are expected to sweep northeastward, with Saturday predicted to be brighter with blustery showers, indicating a mixed weather pattern.
