Simultaneously, western Scotland could witness up to 26cm of snowfall, making it the most heavily impacted region. Northern Ireland is also expected to receive between 1cm and 2cm of snow on the same morning.
The Met Office's long-range forecast indicates unsettled conditions for the north-west of the UK between March 8th and March 17th. A split in weather patterns is anticipated, with high pressure over continental Europe likely bringing dry and bright weather to southern and eastern areas. Conversely, the north-west is expected to face rain-bearing weather systems and potentially strong winds.
