UK Snow Blizzards: February Forecast

Major snow blizzards are expected to blanket much of England in February, according to the latest weather maps. Parts of Scotland could experience up to 97cm of snow on February 8, with some northern areas facing up to 1 meter. The north of England and the Midlands are also likely to be affected, with snow reaching as far south as Gloucestershire, impacting 22 counties.

Temperatures are set to plummet in these regions, with lows of -12C possible in parts of Scotland. Most of England, however, will likely experience temperatures 3 to 4C above zero. Snowfall could begin as early as Monday, January 26, starting in the southwest before spreading across Britain.

Simultaneously, a significant rain warning has been issued for southwest England and southern Wales. Outbreaks of heavy rain are forecast from Monday evening through Tuesday morning. Rainfall totals could reach 20-30 mm widely, with 50-80 mm expected on higher ground. This rain falling on already saturated ground could exacerbate flooding, accompanied by strong southeasterly winds.
