UK Heatwave Returns: Temperatures to Hit 36C!

Following a brief cooling this weekend, the UK is set to experience another severe heatwave, with forecasting models indicating temperatures could reach as high as 36C. This anticipated surge is expected to break a 13-day streak of consecutive 30C days and potentially conclude the UK's third heatwave of 2026.
However, the respite may be short-lived as a fourth heatwave appears imminent. By next Friday, temperatures could climb to 30C or 31C in western areas and reach 29C in Yorkshire. Maps for the following Saturday show potential highs of 33C in southern England, with some areas in Wales reaching 29C or 30C.
The peak is predicted for Sunday next week, with models suggesting highs of 35C to 36C across southern and central England, and 33C to 34C in Wales and northern England. The subsequent Monday also looks warm, with eastern England and South Yorkshire possibly hitting 33C.
