Firefighters Climb to New Heights in Rope Skills Competition

On Armistice Day last week, members of the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service marched in the walk of the Last Post ceremony at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Ypres Memorial in Ieper, Belgium, paying tribute to fallen soldiers.
Meanwhile, back in the UK, eight fire crews from around the country took part in a rope skills competition at the Butlins resort in Minehead. The firefighters showcased their climbing prowess, scaling to the top of the tall tent and moving around the structure using only ropes and harnesses. This unique event allowed the emergency responders to demonstrate the specialized training and expertise they possess.
In other news, one of the Weather Watchers captured the muddy conditions at the beach in Weston-super-Mare, while another spotted horses enjoying the sunrise in a field in Cothelstone. Additionally, the iconic Glastonbury Tor was shrouded in a rising fog during the sunrise this week.
