As of November 11th, 2025, parts of south-west Scotland, southern Wales, south-west England, and Northern Ireland have been issued yellow weather warnings due to incoming bands of heavy and persistent rain. The Met Office has forecasted an unsettled week ahead, with frequent spells of heavy rain and strong, gusty winds across the UK.
The cooler air moving in from the North is expected to bring below freezing overnight temperatures to Scotland, with the potential for some snow on higher ground on Wednesday night. Around 20 to 40mm of rain is anticipated in parts of south-west Scotland, accompanied by winds that will strengthen along exposed coastlines, with gusts potentially reaching gale force.
Other regions, including England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, will also see significant precipitation, with Devon and Cornwall expecting heavy rain and southerly winds, and southern Wales and Northern Ireland potentially receiving 30 to 50mm and 20 to 30mm of rain, respectively. The Met Office has warned of delays to traffic and possible flooding and disruption across the affected areas.
