Tucson Halloween: Rain to Drench Trick-or-Treaters?

Tucson's Halloween festivities may be accompanied by rain this weekend. Light showers are predicted for Saturday evening, gradually increasing to heavier rainfall late Saturday night and continuing through Sunday. This second round of storms is expected to bring substantial precipitation, with totals ranging from a half-inch to an inch in valleys and potentially 1 to 2 inches or more in mountainous areas by Monday.

A flood watch has been issued for southeastern Arizona, beginning Saturday at 11 p.m. and extending through Monday at 5 a.m. Localized flash flooding could render low-water crossings impassable, and rising waters are anticipated along the Santa Cruz River. Prior to this, a separate storm system is expected to arrive by Friday morning and persist through late evening, potentially bringing a quarter-inch to a half-inch of rain, with higher amounts north of Tucson.
