Tropical Storm Jerry Intensifies, New Atlantic System Monitored

As of October 9th, 2025, Tropical Storm Jerry is continuing to intensify and is expected to become a hurricane by the weekend. The National Hurricane Center is also tracking a new system, Invest 96L, in the northern Atlantic.
Jerry is predicted to curve north and then east, staying away from Florida and the United States. However, forecasters caution that storm paths can change, and residents should always be prepared. Invest 96L, a gale-force non-tropical area of low pressure, has a low chance of developing further as it moves over cooler waters and encounters stronger wind shear.
In addition to these two systems, the Hurricane Center is monitoring three tropical waves in the Atlantic basin, including two in the Caribbean. The hatched areas on the Center's outlook map indicate where a tropical cyclone could potentially form, with yellow signifying low chances, orange medium, and red high.
