Severe weather warnings have been issued across Sydney as the city experiences intense rainfall. As of Thursday evening, areas such as Parramatta, Olympic Park, Fairfield, and the CBD were under threat of 'life-threatening' flash flooding due to a slow-moving storm system.
This intense downpour has already inundated several parts of the city, with some locations recording nearly 100mm of rain. Major roadways, including Parramatta Road and the City West Link, have been closed to traffic. The Anzac Bridge experienced traffic backups stretching over two hours.
Public transportation has also been significantly affected, with train services cancelled between Lidcombe and Bankstown.
