27 Jan
Summary
- Severe gales and heavy rain caused widespread travel disruption.
- Flights and ferry services were cancelled due to the storm.
- Fallen trees and flooding closed several roads across the island.

Storm Chandra has brought severe gales and heavy rain to the Isle of Man, resulting in significant travel disruption across the island. All ferry crossings between Douglas and Heysham scheduled for Tuesday were cancelled. Numerous flights to and from the island also faced cancellation.
The severe weather has led to the closure of several roads, particularly in the west of the island. Fallen trees, standing water, and flooding were cited as reasons for these closures, affecting bus routes like the X3, which was diverted. The A18 Mountain Road and a stretch of the TT course were among the impacted routes.
The Ronaldsway Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for severe gales and heavy rain, anticipating conditions to persist until 12:00 GMT. Winds have reached speeds of up to 67mph (108km/h). Commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly as infrastructure teams work to clear obstructions.
