An updated weather alert has been issued for the South West, warning of ice and snow from Saturday evening through Tuesday. The Met Office has placed a yellow warning for ice from 4 PM on Saturday until noon on Sunday.
Following this, further yellow alerts for ice and snow will be in effect from 3 PM on Sunday until 11 AM on Tuesday. The alerts indicate scattered sleet and snow showers, alongside icy patches, which could lead to travel disruption and injuries from slips and falls.
Devon County Council has advised residents to travel with care, emphasizing that roads may appear clear but remain frozen. Drivers are specifically warned to accelerate gently, increase stopping distances, and allow more space between vehicles.
