South Florida is anticipating a severe heatwave as "feels like" temperatures are projected to peak around 108 degrees on Monday. A Heat Advisory has been issued for Broward and Miami-Dade counties, running from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. This intense heat is expected to persist through the workweek.
In addition to the heat, the region will experience southerly winds of 15 to 20 mph, bringing a roughly 20% chance of stray morning showers. While South Florida won't face direct impacts from the developing weather system, Tropical Depression Two is being closely monitored and is expected to become Tropical Storm Bertha. A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for the Florida Panhandle and Alabama coastline.
Rain chances are low for the first half of the week but are expected to gradually increase, with a 40-50% probability of scattered showers and storms from Friday through Sunday.
