Summary
- Severe thunderstorms are forecast for Northern Cape and Eastern Cape.

Unstable weather conditions are bringing a mix of heat and thunderstorms to South Africa on Tuesday. Several provinces will experience scattered showers and thunderstorms, with the potential for severe storms in the interior. The South African Weather Service has issued Yellow Level 2 warnings for severe thunderstorms in large parts of the Northern Cape and the northeastern Western Cape, cautioning of localized flooding, large hail, and damaging winds.
Further warnings are in place for the western parts of the Eastern Cape, where severe thunderstorms could cause localized flooding and property damage. This province is also experiencing an ongoing heatwave, with high temperatures persisting in the Amathole, OR Tambo, and Alfred Nzo districts. Inland areas of the Western Cape may also see afternoon thunderstorms.
Provinces like Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, North West, and the Free State are expected to have partly cloudy conditions with scattered showers and thunderstorms developing later in the day. KwaZulu-Natal will see isolated showers and thunderstorms after morning fog patches, with warm to hot conditions prevailing.
