Severe thunderstorms are anticipated to move across parts of Minnesota overnight into Wednesday morning. Storms are expected to develop in the Dakotas and enter western Minnesota around midnight, progressing eastward. Western and central Minnesota face an enhanced risk of severe weather, with the primary concerns being damaging wind gusts over 60 mph and hail up to 1.50 inches in diameter. Isolated tornadoes are also a possibility.
The Twin Cities metro has a lower risk but can expect storm chances between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. Wednesday. Wednesday itself will remain warm and humid with additional storm chances in the afternoon and evening for the metro, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois.
