On November 18th, 2025, Scotland is bracing for a prolonged period of icy weather, with the Met Office issuing yellow weather warnings for ice and snow across almost the entire country. The warnings, which are set to remain in place until Thursday, are expected to cause significant disruptions to travel and daily life.
According to the Met Office, the cold snap is expected to bring freezing temperatures, snow, and icy conditions that could lead to travel delays, impassable pavements and cycle paths, and even power cuts. Rural communities may also be cut off due to the hazardous conditions.
The warnings come as rain is forecast to move south-east throughout the day on Tuesday, often falling on freezing surfaces and creating icy patches in the morning. Snow is also expected on hills above 300 meters.
