Rajkot Garbas Disrupted by Sudden Downpour

The festive fervour of Navratri in Rajkot was interrupted on the evening of September 29, 2025, as heavy rains lashed the city. The sudden showers forced the cancellation of several popular traditional garbas, including those at Galaxy Garba Mandal, Karanpara Chowk, Garud Garba, and Hanuman Madhi Chowk.

Organizers had to perform aarti with a few participants before announcing the cancellations, as several venues were waterlogged due to the downpour between 8 pm and 9 pm. The Khodaldham institution promptly called off garba in all four city zones, while other organizers said they would review the situation post 10 pm before taking a final call.

This year, Rajkot is hosting a total of 678 garbas, but the unexpected rain has dampened the festive spirit. The cancellations have left many devotees and revelers disappointed, as the Navratri celebrations are a cherished tradition in the city.
