According to the Met Office, current conditions are due to an anti-cyclonic circulation. An approaching western disturbance is expected to bring relief in the form of mild showers and dust storms starting March 14. Strong surface winds may also cause blowing dust in desert areas like Barmer and Jaisalmer.
