Extreme Weather Conditions Disrupt Travel and Endanger Coastal Regions

On September 29th, 2025, forecasters are closely monitoring two major weather systems in the Atlantic. Hurricane Humberto, a powerful Category 4 storm, is expected to produce dangerous surf for Bermuda and the U.S. East Coast in the coming days. Portions of the Bahamas are under a tropical storm warning, with moderate to heavy rains expected to continue over the northwest and central islands.

Authorities in South Carolina and North Carolina are preparing for the potential impact of these storms, with search and rescue crews being pre-positioned and a state of emergency declared in North Carolina even before Imelda formed. Residents in low-lying areas are being advised to take actions to mitigate property damage due to flooding.
