After heavy rain and a yellow weather warning on Tuesday, the forecaster predicts that between 40-50mm of rain could fall on higher ground, with 20mm-30mm expected more widely over a 12-15 hour period. This comes just days after flooding in Carmarthen, which one business owner described as the "worst in living memory." The saturated ground from recent storms increases the risk of further flooding.
The Met Office has warned that the heavy rain could lead to homes and businesses being flooded, causing damage to some buildings. Additionally, spray and surface water may make travel difficult in the affected areas, which include Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Carmarthenshire, and several other local authorities across south and mid Wales.
