Met Office Warns of Impending Floods in Northern Ireland

According to the latest weather forecast, the UK is bracing for a miserable weekend ahead, particularly in Northern Ireland. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the region, predicting heavy rain and potential flooding on Sunday.
The heavy downpours are expected to begin on Saturday night, with the rain being "heaviest in the southeast" of Northern Ireland. Widespread rainfall of 20-30mm is anticipated, while the Mournes area could see up to 100mm of rain accumulate by the early hours of Sunday morning.
The weather warning is in effect from midnight on Sunday until midday, and the Met Office has warned that the heavy rain is likely to cause flooding of some homes and businesses, as well as interruptions to power supplies and other services. Additionally, journey times are expected to be affected due to spray and flooding on the roads.
The unsettled weather is set to continue through the weekend, with further blustery showers and some thundery activity expected on Monday and Tuesday. Temperatures, however, are expected to remain near normal for the time of year.
