Noida Drenched: Relief Rain Soothes Rising Heat
8 Apr
Summary
- Rain brought relief from heat, lowering temperatures significantly.
- A yellow alert forecasts thunderstorms and gusty winds for Wednesday.
- Air quality improved to moderate levels post-rainfall.

Noida and Greater Noida experienced welcome rainfall on Tuesday, offering respite from the week's preceding warm weather. This change brought much-needed relief as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for Wednesday, predicting thunderstorms and gusty winds.
The intermittent rain, which occurred in the morning and afternoon, caused a noticeable drop in temperature. Maximum temperature reached 31°C, while the minimum was 17.3°C. Forecasts indicate a continuation of partly cloudy to generally cloudy skies with potential rain or thundershowers until Wednesday.
Gusty winds of 40-50 km/h are expected, prompting advisories for caution during outdoor activities. Despite brief waterlogging in low-lying areas and traffic slowdowns, residents welcomed the cooling effect. Air quality improved to a 'moderate' AQI of 126 in Noida and Greater Noida.
Weather conditions are expected to stabilize from April 9 onwards, with clear skies forecast for the following days. Temperatures are predicted to gradually climb again towards the end of the week, reaching around 32-33°C.
