NJ Braces for Post-Christmas Snowstorm Chaos

New Jersey residents can expect a substantial winter storm to arrive shortly after Christmas, bringing the potential for considerable snowfall and travel disruptions. Forecasters predict 3 to 6 inches of snow for the northern half of the state, with 1 to 3 inches anticipated in southern counties. The storm is expected to begin Friday and last through Saturday morning.

This system could also bring mixed precipitation, including sleet and freezing rain, particularly depending on the storm's track and local temperatures. Some areas in eastern Pennsylvania and western New Jersey might experience heavy ice accumulation. Before the snow arrives, New Jersey will experience strong, gusty winds on Tuesday night and Wednesday (Christmas Eve). These winds could reach 30 to 40 mph in some areas northwest of I-95.
