Monsoon Mayhem: Multiple States Under Orange Alert for Downpours

On July 31, 2025, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Rajasthan and Assam, predicting heavy rainfall in these regions. In addition, several other states, including Bihar, Jharkhand, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, and Madhya Pradesh, are also under orange alerts for the day.
The national capital, Delhi, experienced heavy rainfall the previous day, and the city is forecast to see generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning on July 31. However, there is no warning for heavy rain in Delhi today or in the next 4-5 days. The maximum temperature is expected to be between 30 and 32°C, while the minimum temperature will be between 23 and 25°C.
The weather forecaster has also predicted isolated, very heavy rainfall over east Rajasthan on July 31. Isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh from July 31 to August 4, Jammu and Kashmir on July 31, Uttar Pradesh on August 3 and 4, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh on August 3 and 4, east Rajasthan on August 1 and 2, and west Rajasthan on July 31. Light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is also expected over the western Himalayan region and some places over the plains during the next seven days.
