Met Office Predicts "Pleasantly Warm" October Ahead

The Met Office's long-range forecast indicates that high pressure is expected to prevail, leading to plenty of dry, settled weather. Temperatures are most likely to be near average or "pleasantly warm" during the day, at least initially, though some chilly nights and isolated frost are possible where skies remain clear.
This forecast aligns with the recent warm weather seen across the UK. On Monday and Tuesday, temperatures reached as high as 20°C in some areas, with readings of 18.6°C and 18.5°C recorded in Somerset and at Heathrow Airport, respectively. The Met Office believes this pattern will continue for the foreseeable future, in contrast to the grim predictions made by other forecasters.

However, the Met Office does acknowledge that the weather is likely to become more unsettled towards the end of the month, with a greater chance of rain, showers, and potentially strong winds. Temperatures are expected to be close to average overall during this period, which is set to extend into the start of November.
