An EF-1 tornado touched down in Ridgely, Maryland, on Monday, accompanied by severe storms across the state. The National Weather Service confirmed maximum winds of 100 mph in Caroline County, where the tornado made landfall.
Two rounds of severe weather impacted the region, bringing substantial flooding, damaging winds, and widespread power outages. Straight-line winds were also recorded near Sudlersville and Millington in Queen Anne's County, with speeds estimated between 70 to 90 mph.
The governor declared a State of Preparedness in anticipation of the storms. Hundreds of flights experienced delays and cancellations at BWI Airport and other East Coast airports. This event occurred approximately one week after another EF-1 tornado impacted Howard County.
