Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of minus 0.4 degrees Celsius on Saturday, as a severe cold wave intensified across Kashmir. The southern region of Pulwama was the coldest in the Valley, with temperatures dropping to minus 3.2 degrees Celsius.
This harsh weather conditions significantly impacted air travel. Several flights operating from Sheikh Ul Alam International Airport in Srinagar were canceled. IndiGo flights to Kolkata and Amritsar faced cancellations due to operational reasons and adverse weather at the destination, respectively.
Further disruptions affected Air India flights to Delhi, which also impacted onward connections to Jammu. Airport authorities advised passengers to confirm their flight schedules with airlines prior to their journey to avoid inconvenience.
