3 Nov
Summary
- Maximum temperature rose by 3°C to 31°C due to bright sunshine.
- Minimum temperature stayed below 20°C at 18.6°C.
- Kanpur's AQI remained in the unhealthy range between 122 and 195.
Kanpur division saw bright sunshine on Monday, leading to a noticeable increase in the maximum temperature. The mercury climbed by about 3°C, reaching a high of 31°C. The minimum temperature, however, remained cooler, recorded at 18.6°C, staying below the 20°C mark.
Despite relative humidity peaking at 93%, the prevailing north-westerly winds, blowing at speeds between 1.5 to 4.21 kmph, prevented the atmosphere from becoming overly sultry. These winds are expected to persist in the coming days, which should help reduce humidity and usher in drier weather conditions.
Concurrently, the air quality in Kanpur remained a concern. The Air Quality Index (AQI) was reported in the unhealthy category, with readings ranging from 122 to 195. The average AQI hovered around 150-165, primarily due to elevated levels of PM2.5 and PM10 particulate matter.
