Kanpur Faces Sultry Weather: Monsoon Relief Expected Soon

Kanpur experienced sultry weather on Saturday, characterized by a mix of cloud cover and bright sunshine, leading to high humidity for its residents. The maximum temperature climbed to 33°C, while the minimum was recorded at 25.6°C. The city had received minimal rainfall in the preceding 24 hours, contributing to the discomfort.

However, a change in weather is anticipated. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast an active monsoon spell for the Kanpur division within the next 24 to 48 hours. This prediction is based on the formation of a low-pressure area over the division, combined with a trough line passing through Uttar Pradesh.

The forecast suggests that Kanpur could see light to moderate rainfall, with a possibility of heavy showers in isolated areas. Weather experts also predict continued cloud movement over the next five days, potentially bringing localized thunderstorms, strong winds, and light rain or drizzle. Despite intermittent rainfall, humidity is expected to remain high whenever sunshine breaks through, potentially prolonging the uncomfortable conditions.
