On Tuesday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) office in Ranchi issued a yellow alert for 15 districts in the northern and adjoining central parts of Jharkhand state. The alert was issued as these areas are likely to receive heavy rainfall at isolated places on Wednesday.
In the past 24 hours, Deoghar district recorded the highest rainfall in the state, with 25.5 mm. Other districts saw lower amounts, with Koderma receiving 2 mm, Palamu 3.5 mm, and both Gumla and Jagannathpur receiving 0.5 mm of rainfall. Overall, Jharkhand has received 748.6 mm of rainfall since June 1.
Temperature-wise, Ranchi experienced a maximum of 27.4°C on Tuesday, while Jamshedpur recorded 30.9°C, Daltonganj 30.8°C, Bokaro 30.1°C, and Chaibasa 29.8°C. Garhwa district saw the highest maximum temperature in the state at 32°C.
