In contrast, Rajasthan is under a dust storm alert, with winds expected to reach 40-60 kph. This phenomenon is driven by high surface temperatures and strong wind activity. Simultaneously, parts of North India, including eastern Uttar Pradesh, are expected to endure heatwave conditions until June 24.
The southwest monsoon is advancing and is anticipated to cover Maharashtra, Telangana, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Bihar by approximately June 23. Increased rainfall activity is also expected along the west coast, including Konkan and Goa.
Major cities like Delhi NCR may experience thunderstorms and winds up to 60 kmph. Mumbai is predicted to be hot and humid with chances of showers, while Kolkata braces for thunderstorms and showers. Chennai and Bengaluru anticipate scattered thunderstorms, and Hyderabad may see isolated afternoon storms.
