Flash Flood Warnings are in effect for several central Indiana counties, including southeastern Bartholomew, southern Decatur, northeastern Jackson, and Jennings. These warnings, active until approximately 11:15 p.m. on Wednesday, were issued due to heavy rainfall indicated by radar. Up to two inches of rain are anticipated in the affected zones.
Areas with poor drainage, such as small creeks, urban locations, streets, and underpasses, are most susceptible to flooding. The National Weather Service also reported Flood Warnings for Buck Creek at Acton, Sugar Creek near Edinburgh, and Clifty Creek at Hartsville. Numerous other counties are under a Flood Advisory until around 10:45 p.m.
Looking ahead, Thursday is expected to continue the wet weather pattern with additional showers and storms predicted. Marion County and surrounding areas to its south, west, and east are under a Flood Watch, while most northern counties near Indianapolis are not under rain-related warnings.
