A multi-day spell of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms is set to impact several Indian states, including Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Telangana, beginning April 1st. Maharashtra can expect isolated light-to-moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and gusty winds, potentially reaching 30-50 kmph, across Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada. Thundersqualls with wind speeds of 50-60 kmph, gusting up to 70 kmph, are likely on April 2nd and 3rd. Isolated hailstorms are a risk for Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada until April 3rd.
Telangana faces similar conditions with scattered thunderstorms and gusty winds over the next five days. Karnataka will also experience isolated light-to-moderate rain with thunderstorms and gusty winds. Specific regions in North Interior Karnataka face a hailstorm risk on April 4th-5th, and South Interior Karnataka on April 5th. Fishermen have been advised there is no warning for maritime zones.
Maximum temperatures are expected to rise slightly on April 1st before gradually decreasing through April 7th. The IMD continues to provide real-time updates on its official website.
