The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has indicated that conditions are becoming favorable for the Southwest Monsoon's withdrawal from West Rajasthan, expected around September 19. This marks a delay in the monsoon's departure, consequently affecting Delhi's anticipated exit from the season.
Northern and eastern regions, including Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Punjab, are forecast to receive widespread rain and thunderstorms through September 17. Similar weather patterns, including isolated heavy rainfall, are predicted for East Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Southern India, particularly Kerala and Mahe, will experience thunderstorms with gusty winds. Major cities like Amaravati, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad are also expected to see rain or thundershowers. Delhi anticipates very light rain on September 16, with maximum temperatures ranging from 33°C to 35°C.
