India Braces for Heavy Rainfall Across Multiple States Until August 9

According to the latest weather report from India's Meteorological Department (IMD) issued on August 4, 2025, the country is bracing for heavy rainfall across multiple states until August 9. The IMD has issued an orange alert for 11 states, including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, forecasting heavy rainfall on Monday, August 4.
The weather department has predicted isolated very heavy rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya on August 4 and from August 6 to 9. Isolated heavy rainfall is also likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, and other parts of East and Central India during this period. In Northwest India, the IMD has warned of extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places over Uttar Pradesh on August 4.
Meanwhile, the national capital Delhi is expected to see partly cloudy skies along with light rains accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning on Monday. The maximum temperature in Delhi is likely to be between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is expected to be between 23 and 25 degrees Celsius.
