Homes, Railway, and A-Road Threatened by Imminent Flood Warnings in Norfolk
26 Oct
Summary
- Riverside properties along River Yare at risk of flooding
- A47 road and rail tracks in affected areas also under threat
- Flood warning issued for River Waveney on Suffolk border

On October 26th, 2025, the Environment Agency (EA) has warned that homes, a railway line, and a busy A-road in Norfolk could be flooded on Sunday. The EA stated that riverside properties along the River Yare in the towns of Reedham, Cantley, and Brundall are at risk of flooding.
Additionally, the A47 road and rail tracks in these affected areas are also under threat from the rising water levels. A separate flood warning has been issued for the River Waveney, which runs along the border between Norfolk and Suffolk. The EA cited "tide locking" as the cause, where high tides restrict the drainage of the river into the sea.
Residents in the at-risk areas have been advised to take necessary precautions as the situation develops over the coming days. The EA is closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates to ensure the safety of the local community.
