The meteorological department has predicted light to moderate rain or snowfall across many high and mid-hill areas of Himachal Pradesh on February 1. This forecast extends to a few places on February 2 and 3. Low hills and plains are also expected to receive light to moderate rain on February 1.
A yellow alert has been issued, cautioning residents about isolated thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and winds gusting up to 60 kilometers per hour. Despite these upcoming forecasts, weather remained dry on Saturday, though cloud cover was prevalent, and a cold wave gripped the state. Bilaspur notably experienced very dense fog.
The mercury dropped to -10.2°C in Tabo, Lahaul and Spiti, marking the lowest minimum temperature, while Una recorded the highest maximum at 24.2°C. Dry weather is anticipated for February 4 and 5. Minimum temperatures are expected to hold steady until Sunday afternoon before dropping by 2-5°C, with maximum temperatures falling by 4-8°C.
