Himachal Pradesh is set to experience a shift in weather patterns starting June 11, as predicted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Shimla. A fresh Western Disturbance is expected to influence the Western Himalayan region, bringing rainfall across the state.
Orange alerts have been issued for Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, and Sirmaur districts on June 11, and for Kullu, Mandi, and Shimla on June 12. These alerts warn of potential thunderstorms, lightning, hailstorms, and gusty winds. Yellow alerts are also in place for other districts on June 11, 12, and 13.
The anticipated weather change is projected to lower temperatures statewide. Maximum temperatures may fall by 3-6°C, and minimum temperatures by 2-5°C over the next 3-4 days. This comes as some plains areas, including Una, Bilaspur, and Solan, faced a yellow alert for heatwave conditions on June 10, with Una recording a high of 42.8°C.
