The weather models predict that on October 22, a significant weather system will bring snow to the country, primarily concentrating over the Cairngorms National Park and the Scottish Highlands.
The maps suggest that a roughly 130-mile area could see up to 2cm of snow falling per hour, with the most significant accumulation expected over the high ground near Loch Monar. In total, the forecasts indicate that up to 7cm, or nearly three inches, of snow could fall in Scotland in the coming weeks.
Beyond the Cairngorms, the snow is also expected to spread to other parts of the Scottish Highlands, potentially reaching as far north as the country's northern coast. While the rest of the UK is expected to grow colder, the weather models suggest that the snowfall will be largely confined to the northern regions of Scotland.
