Gujarat CM Rushes to Coordinate Flood Response as Heavy Rains Lash State

On Sunday, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel made an unscheduled visit to the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) to gather information about the ongoing rainfall situation in the state. He held a video conference with the collectors of eight districts, including Surendranagar, Patan, Aravalli, Ahmedabad, Mehsana, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, and Kheda, to review the administration's preparedness.
According to the SEOC, several areas in Gujarat have received heavy rainfall over the past day. Daskroi taluka in Ahmedabad district received 10 inches of rain, while Nadiad and Mehamdabad talukas in Kheda district received 8 inches each. Other heavily affected areas include Matar (7 inches), Vaso, Mahudha, Kathlal (5 inches each), and Umreth (4 inches).
The chief minister instructed the district collectors to remain alert, continuously monitor the rainfall situation, ensure the administrative machinery remains vigilant, and coordinate with the SEOC to provide timely updates. The state has so far received 58% of its seasonal rainfall.
