Several areas in Guangdong province experienced service and school suspensions on Thursday following Typhoon Saudel's landfall in adjacent Fujian province. High-speed train services from Shenzhen North Railway Station were also suspended starting Wednesday. Eastern Guangdong endured heavy to torrential rain and isolated extreme downpours from Tuesday to Wednesday.
Projections indicate a decrease in storm intensity beginning Friday, though rainfall will continue in eastern and northern Guangdong. Authorities have issued warnings about ongoing risks of river flooding, flash floods, urban inundation, landslides, and debris flows.
