Ahead of the fortnight-long Pitrapaksh Mela commencing this Friday and continuing until October 10, Magadh Range IG Vikas Vaibhav conducted a thorough review of security arrangements in Gaya. Lakhs of devotees are anticipated to arrive for ancestral rituals.
Accompanied by senior police officials, the IG inspected the tent city at Gandhi Maidan, issuing directives for effective crowd control and security. A substantial deployment of around 4,000 police personnel, working in three shifts, is planned to ensure round-the-clock safety. Over 500 CCTV cameras, monitored from a central control room, will cover the entire mela area. Additionally, 118 police camps will be established to assist pilgrims and enhance their safety throughout the event.
