Gardener's World Star Monty Don Battles Devastating Floods at Longmeadow
16 Nov
Summary
- Monty Don's Herefordshire home hit by "major flood" in November 2025
- Flooding engulfs tree trunks and covers garden in high water levels
- Don's dog Ned happily retrieves ball in the floodwaters

In mid-November 2025, Gardener's World star Monty Don has been dealing with the devastating aftermath of a "major flood" that has hit his Herefordshire home, Longmeadow. Don, who lives at the property with his wife Sarah and their two dogs, has been sharing multiple photos and videos on social media documenting the flooding.
The 70-year-old gardener has revealed that the flooding has engulfed the tree trunks outside his home, with water levels reaching high enough to cover the grass in his garden. Despite the severe conditions, Don's golden retriever, Ned, appears to be having a blast, with Don sharing a video of the dog running through the floodwaters to retrieve a ball.
This is not the first time Don has experienced flooding at his property. Earlier this year, in January 2025, he and his wife were trapped inside their home due to rising water levels. Don has noted that flooding has become more "frequent" and "worse" in the Herefordshire region in recent years. In fact, he wrote on his blog last year that the fields and sections of his garden had been underwater for months due to relentless rainfall.
While the flooding has caused significant damage in the area, Don considers himself and his family fortunate that their home has not been directly impacted. He acknowledges that many other homes and businesses in the region have "suffered very badly" from the recent storm.
