The Cairngorms National Park, near Braemar and Balmoral, is expected to be the coldest area, with temperatures plummeting to -1°C. Eight counties in Scotland, including Highland, Moray, and Aberdeenshire, will see the mercury drop to 0°C. In England, six counties, such as Northumberland, Cumbria, and Cornwall, will also reach freezing temperatures.
The rest of the UK will experience lows ranging from 1°C to 7°C, with all of Wales, except for Powys and Wrexham, seeing 0°C. This sudden drop in temperatures, accompanied by cold winds, is a stark contrast to the milder weather that has been typical for this time of year.
