Flood Warnings Issued as Wales Braces for Extreme Weather

Flood warnings were issued last month, with one of the main routes into Swansea submerged following heavy rain. Just two weeks ago, the first named storm of the season wrought havoc across Wales, with 85mph gusts battering the region.
Both NRW and the Met Office have been urging people to prepare by checking their flood risk and signing up for alerts. However, a recent report by the Senedd's environment committee raised concerns over the low public engagement with the flood warning system, with only 16% of respondents across the UK signed up to receive the alerts.
