England Heatwave: 30C Scorcher Arrives This Friday!

England is bracing for a significant heatwave, with temperatures set to dramatically increase this Friday, June 19. Six counties, including Cambridgeshire, Essex, Greater London, Kent, Norfolk, and Suffolk, are forecast to experience highs of 29C to 30C. The hottest part of the day is anticipated around 4pm.

This warm spell follows a cooler period and will build from Wednesday, June 17, which is predicted to be warm and humid with a 25C maximum. Thursday will be slightly warmer, reaching approximately 27C, with mostly fine and sunny conditions expected.

The forecast for Friday and Saturday indicates increasingly hot and humid weather, remaining largely dry but with a chance of thunderstorms. Looking ahead to the end of June, the long-range outlook suggests a possibility of very warm and humid conditions in south and southeast Britain, with potential for thunderstorms.

As the month progresses, high pressure is expected to build more widely, leading to drier and settled conditions with above-average temperatures. However, there remains a chance of brief wet and windy weather from the Atlantic, and the return of hot conditions accompanied by thunderstorms, depending on weather system orientation.
