Delhi-NCR Prepares for Rainfall Relief After Prolonged Heat
30 Sep, 2025
Summary
- Light rain expected in Delhi-NCR on September 30 and October 1
- Significant temperature drop from 35-36°C to around 32°C
- Low-pressure systems developing over Gujarat and Bay of Bengal

As of September 30, 2025, the residents of Delhi-NCR can look forward to some respite from the prolonged heat that has been plaguing the region. According to projections made by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and private weather forecasters, the area is set to witness light rain starting today, September 30, and continuing through October 1.
This change in weather is attributed to the formation of a deep low-pressure system over Gujarat and the Arabian Sea, as well as the expected development of a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal. These weather patterns are expected to have a broader impact, affecting the eastern and southwestern parts of Rajasthan with rain, while also bringing heavy rainfall to Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and South India. The northeastern states are also predicted to receive moderate rain in the coming days.
The temperature in Delhi-NCR, which has been hovering between 35°C and 36°C, is forecasted to decrease to around 32°C within the next two days, providing much-needed relief to the residents. The weather is expected to remain mostly cloudy on October 3, with a combination of clouds and light sunshine resuming from October 4 onwards.
