Delhi Heat Breaks: Relief Amidst Humidity Concerns
15 Jun
Summary
- Recent rains have significantly lowered Delhi's temperature.
- Humidity levels are expected to increase in the coming days.
- No severe heatwave conditions are anticipated in the near future.

Delhi has witnessed a substantial decrease in temperature due to recent rainfall, providing significant relief from the heat. This weather shift is attributed to a western disturbance that influenced the region.
As the impact of the western disturbance wanes, Delhiites may experience a gradual rise in maximum temperatures starting from Sunday, June 14. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts partly cloudy skies with a possibility of thunder and lightning on Sunday, though no severe weather warnings are in effect.
Humidity levels are expected to remain high, potentially around 72 percent, making the atmosphere feel more humid. Despite the anticipated increase in temperature, severe heatwave conditions are not expected in the immediate future. The air quality in Delhi-NCR remains in the "Moderate" category.
On Saturday, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 35.6°C, which was 4.3°C below normal, and a minimum temperature of 21.4°C, 6.6°C below normal. This followed thunderstorms and rain experienced on Friday night and Saturday.
