The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for Delhi-NCR for July 2nd, predicting moderate rain spells, cloudy skies, and strong surface winds.
At 6:45 AM on July 2nd, the IMD issued a nowcast red warning for several districts in Delhi, indicating a possibility of wet weather within the next three hours. This advisory warned of moderate thunderstorms, lightning, and squally winds of 60-80 KMPH, gusting up to 100 KMPH, accompanied by light to moderate rain.
As Delhi braces for this thunderstorm and lightning activity, a gradual fall in both maximum and minimum temperatures is anticipated over the next two days. The maximum temperature on July 2nd is expected to range between 32°C to 34°C, with the minimum temperature hovering around 22°C to 24°C.
