21 Mar
Summary
- Post-winter fog reduced visibility to just a few meters.
- Delhi-NCR faces days of cooler, cloudy weather with rain.
- North India expects rain in plains and snow in hilly regions.

Delhi experienced a rare post-winter fog on Saturday morning, with visibility reduced to just a few meters after three days of rain and clouds. Temperatures dropped below 14 degrees Celsius, though visibility improved to 1,300 meters by 10 AM as temperatures rose.
The India Meteorological Department forecasts a period of cooler, cloudy weather for Delhi-NCR, with chances of light rain and thunderstorms over the next few days. Day temperatures have dropped significantly and are expected to rise gradually, staying below usual for this time of year.
This weather system is also impacting other parts of North India. Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are likely to see widespread rain and snowfall, with isolated heavy precipitation. Plains states like Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh can expect scattered rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds, with possible hailstorms in some areas.
The IMD has issued advisories due to potential damage from thunderstorms, including lightning, strong winds, and hail, warning residents to stay indoors and avoid risks. Heavy rain might cause temporary waterlogging and traffic disruptions.
